Hampton Lane Child Development Center is currently operating under the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) and the Maryland Department of Health guidelines and restrictions for the Pandemic. We are successfully following Covid-19 precautions; which includes maintaining smaller classroom sizes, social distancing, masks for students and staff, individualized materials and increased sterilization process. We have limited our foot traffic to staff and students only. We have created drop-off stations with screening and temperature checks. Our classroom sizes are reduced and each class and teaching staff is separated. Our hours of operation are currently 8:30am-5:00pm to accommodate the class separations. We are hoping that we will soon be able to accept our full enrollment for each class and return to our 7:00am to 5:45 schedule. We greatly appreciate your understanding during these unprecedent times.
Hampton Lane Child Development Center does not discriminate against race, color, national origin or religion when accepting children into the Center or when hiring employees.
The children must be two years of age to attend our program. Parent(s) and prospective children must meet the director and have a tour of our facility before enrolling into our program. Please call 410.825.0008 to set up a tour of Hampton Lane. We usually schedule our tours Tuesday through Friday in the morning hours.
Once enrolled, we require a gradual entry program for all our new students. Basically this means that each new student is required to attend a visitation day/time with a parent present. This is scheduled as a Meet and Greet approximately a week before the entrance date. It may be done individually or as a group, depending on the entrance date. A child’s first day at Hampton Lane should be a half day, in which the child is to be picked up early, usually after lunch and before nap time. We believe that this is a great transition process into the school program; however, if your child needs a longer transition time you are welcome to continue the half days. Each situation and transition process may vary depending on the individual needs of the child.
While enrollment at the beginning of the school year is preferred, we do allow children to enter the program at any time throughout the year, provided that space is available. The classes are filled on a space available basis. If there are no current openings, children will be placed on the waiting list. The waiting list will be kept and honored for one year.
Current and existing families are required to submit an application for re-enrollment each year for their child, along with a non-refundable application fee. The re-enrollment process for existing students will be announced, and each family given the opportunity to enroll. The re-enrollment form and application fee must be submitted by the given deadline to be honored. Any outstanding tuition balance without payment arrangements agreed upon by the office may also be denial for re-enrollment.
Once a child and their parent has attended a tour of Hampton Lane Child Development Center, the enrollment process may begin. Given that there is space available for your child, an enrollment packet may be requested. The administrative staff will create an enrollment packet for you with the necessary documentation needed. All forms including medical forms and financial deposits must be completed before your child’s first day of attendance. A signed and completed contract along with the 1st month’s non-refundable tuition deposit will confirm your child’s place in our school. An additional 1 month’s tuition deposit will need to be paid by the child’s first day of attendance. This amount will be refunded with a 30 day written notice of withdrawal from the center or applied to the last month’s tuition.
All applications are subject to review and Hampton Lane reserves the right to decline an enrollment application for new and existing families for any reason.
